Do you ever get the feeling that you’re being watched? It’s likely that somebody is watching you.
I’m not talking about a stalker but somebody that is looking to you as a role model. Think about the ones that you’re often around and how you can be your best for them.
The Cat
The cat is only watching because it’s hungry. I had to throw this in since the post image has a cat in it.
Your Kids
For you parents, obviously your kids are paying close attention to every move you make. Your children will likely turn out just like you or be intentional to not be like you if you’re not doing things right. It’s vital that you’re intentional about leading them.
Daughters will find husbands like their Dad and sons will find wives like their Mom. Their spouses may not be replicas of you but will exhibit at least some of your traits.
Do you actively listen to them when they’re talking to you or trying to show you something? Our four year old will say “Look at my face!” when he wants my undivided attention. That’s his reminder that I’m not giving him the attention that he’s longing for and a signal that I need to do better.
You’ve been given the honor of being a parent. Don’t squander your awesome opportunity.
Your Other Half
Relationships require both people to lead in different ways and look to each other for direction. The saying that opposites attract is true and there is a divine reason that you’re together.
Look to each other for validation of your role in the relationship and work on listening to each other intently.
Co-Workers
If you’re in a traditional work environment then you spend a lot of time with co-workers. You probably have nearly as much interaction with your professional peeps as you do with your family.
If you’re good at your job, a manager, or leader in some capacity then younger workers or maybe even older ones are looking to you as a mentor or somebody to emulate. Being a part of another person’s success is more fulfilling than having your own success.
Extended Family
Your nieces, nephews, and cousins may consider you a role-model. Kids need multiple strong examples in their lives. Don’t miss a chance to impact them especially if you see a need to be met.
Don’t forget that you’re always around people that you can impact positively whether it’s close family, co-workers, friends, or acquaintances.
Here are some tips to help you be the best you.
Be Transparent
Be Helpful
Be Loving
Be Dependable
Be Consistent
You don’t have to be the perfect parent, spouse, or friend because nobody should expect that from you.
